In my life there were pivotal moments which affected me in such as way that I knew I was profoundly changed. Even though I might not have been able to articulate specifically what or how I change. Several of these moments Enhanced my how I would live. I'd love to share a few with you.
- Sitting front row to experience Pat Metheny live for my first time touring his solo recording Secret Story. I was transfixed how Metheny's on compositional beauty and what a stellar musician he was. He wove and was clearly influence by wide range of music but incorporating into an easily identifable voice.
- June 21st, 2004 Being witness to the first flight to space by SpaceShipOne. That experience sparked inside me the notion that I wanted and realized I must be a part the space movement even if I had no idea how though that would eventually manifest. I share more about that experience in my book, Space Is Open for Business.
- June 8th, 2018 - The passing of my mother who was a ray of sunshine.
- August 8th, 2021 - Netse Mot for Sk'aliCh'elh-tenaut - I learned of the story of Sk'aliCh'elh-tenaut, the captive orca in Florida who is also known as Tokitae or Lolita.
The takeaways for me include but are not limited to:
- Improvisation is a really useful tool in life. It helps me think and be more creative, resilient and open minded.
- Space can be an even more powerful theme and domain when we discover how it's change and improved life on Earth.
- I am generally more interested in how space can improve our greatest spaceship, Earth.
- Cetaceans generally should not be captive.
If you check out some of my other online engagements and posts, you might notice that it sometimes veer off the focus of the business of space. I actually have multiple interests and I found sharing some of those in other forums cathartic.
